Families are also invited to join us for events and activities, creating opportunities to build cherished memories together. At Loudonville, we strive to ensure you feel as close as ever to the people who matter most. Check out a live view of our activities calendars in our three units below!

Health and Physical Fitness
Staying active and physically engaged is a core part of life at Loudonville. Residents enjoy a variety of activities that promote health and fitness, from gentle exercises to fun and competitive games. Weekly activities include exercise sessions tailored to all ability levels, basketball, floor hockey, and balloon volleyball. Residents get a kick out of “Footloose Friday” dancing sessions, enjoy Wii games, and can even test their skills at bowling. The Walking Club offers residents a chance to stay active and socialize, whether exploring the outdoors during summer or enjoying our fine art collection indoors during winter. Fine Motor Mondays add a focus on exercises that enhance dexterity and coordination. All together, these activities create a fun, accessible approach to physical wellness for residents across all three of our units.

Lifelong Learning and Intellectual Stimulation
Intellectual curiosity doesn’t stop with age. We encourage our residents to pursue lifelong learning through a variety of stimulating activities. We host presentations from museum curators, college professors, and industry professionals who share their expertise and enrich our residents’ knowledge on a variety of subjects. Engaging games like crosswords, Family Feud, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”, and witty word games provide daily mental workouts. Daily morning discussions on current events keep everyone up to date, while puzzles of all kinds offer enjoyable challenges. These activities support cognitive health, promote social interaction, and give our residents plenty to talk about and think about each day.

Creative Expressions and the Arts
Creative outlets allow our residents to express themselves and explore their imaginations. Our weekly crafts are always tailored to the season, making each project timely and festive. Residents can enjoy the beauty of floral arranging, participate in art therapy, or join our popular “Paint and Sip” sessions where they can create artwork while enjoying a favorite beverage. For those who enjoy quieter forms of creativity, we offer coloring and painting sessions that provide a calm, fulfilling activity to brighten their day. Our arts program allows everyone to discover or rekindle a passion for creative expression.

Community and Social Connection
Our community is built on meaningful connections, and we create ample opportunities for socialization and friendship. From our Annual Holiday Soiree to our Annual Centennial Celebration and summer block parties, residents have plenty of reasons to gather, celebrate, and enjoy. Active groups like the Resident Council, Women’s Club, Men’s Club, and Food Committee let residents have a voice in our community. Special events, including veterans’ ceremonies and holiday gatherings, honor our residents and make them feel cherished. Our outings to shopping centers, restaurants, and even the casino offer exciting changes of scenery to allow our residents to be involved in the Capital District Community. Our regular couples’ events offer a unique opportunity for couples to connect and form friendships, creating a close-knit community within our larger community at Loudonville. These activities celebrate their bonds and help them find meaningful connections with others who share similar experiences and journeys.

Entertainment
At Loudonville, entertainment is a highlight of our community life, with over 30 different entertainers visiting throughout the year to perform their seasonal sets. Residents look forward to these performances, and the most popular entertainers return as often as once a month in each unit, keeping our schedule lively and engaging all year round. For those who prefer game night excitement over musical entertainment, we offer a vibrant lineup of gametime entertainment to keep everyone engaged. Bingo enthusiasts can look forward to multiple games each week, while our daily groups include a variety of card games and classic board games for all skill levels. Our Mah Jong group meets weekly, providing both friendly competition and a wonderful opportunity to socialize.
For residents who love winding down with a movie, we offer nightly film screenings that provide a relaxing and enjoyable close to each day. For those who prefer the excitement of gathering for favorite shows and sports, we host watch parties for Sunday Night Football, popular programs like *Dancing with the Stars* and *The Golden Bachelorette,* and numerous major sporting events throughout the year. These shared viewing experiences spark lively conversations, laughter, and a wonderful sense of camaraderie, enhancing the warmth and community spirit here at Loudonville.

Pet Therapy
Our residents’ days are often brightened by Penny, our in-house therapy dog, whose joyful and affectionate nature brings a sense of calm and happiness to everyone she meets. Penny, a friendly Golden Retriever, has a special way of lifting spirits with her gentle demeanor and eagerness for attention. Whether she’s receiving belly rubs, enjoying treats, or simply relaxing beside someone, her presence provides an immediate sense of comfort. She has become a beloved member of our Loudonville family, and her interactions with residents foster a strong emotional connection that helps to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Penny’s younger sister, Lady, will begin her journey as a second therapy dog in our community, expanding the positive impact of animal-assisted therapy. Lady, also a Golden Retriever, shares Penny’s affectionate nature, and we’re excited to see how her unique personality will further enhance our residents’ experiences. With both Penny and Lady around, there will be even more opportunities for residents to enjoy the soothing presence of a furry friend, which can be especially comforting to help create an atmosphere of warmth, connection, and unconditional love that is felt by all who interact with them.

Religious Engagement
At Loudonville, we honor the diverse spiritual needs of our residents through regular opportunities for religious engagement. We offer Mass every Sunday through the livestream of St. Pius Church and a non-denominational service each week by Pastor Moore, and Communion is provided on the first and third Fridays of each month. Our Jewish residents are visited by a Rabbi who offers personal guidance and comparative religion presentations. A local church group leads weekly Bible study sessions every Monday, providing an enriching experience for all who attend. These activities foster a sense of peace, purpose, and community for our residents, supporting them in their spiritual journey.
